Dig Sessions are just an excuse to get out into the world, make friends, and document music. We are trying to capture all music, of all genres and musicianship levels. In our modern world of iPods and mp3s it is easy to forget that not so many years ago if you wanted to hear music you had to either play it yourself, or watch someone else play. That is the soul of The Dig Sessions, watching people play music. Single takes, no gimmicks. Just a microphone and a camera capturing REAL music with all its beautiful imperfections. View all
Myles Coyne, of Myles Coyne and the Rusty Nickel Band, Animals in Human Attire, Temple, and Ladders among other projects, has entrenched himself in the Milwaukee music scene over the past few years. His stage presence and charisma is undeniable and has helped him play festivals like SXSW and win hearts and eardrums of people all over the country.
We were lucky enough to track him down on a blustery overcast Saturday in Milwaukee and film a Dig Session with him at the Exclusive Company. This particular tune, entitled Empire, was previously unreleased. It is part of the compilation put out by Top 5 Records named The Sound of Young Milwaukee. Because the internet is an awesome place you can stream the entire compilation right here.
If you dig Myles you can learn more about him at http://www.mylescoyne.com/
